Meet FASD Trainer

Joanna Buckard - FASD Trainer

Joanna Buckard

My FASD journey began whilst I was working for a Social Services Children and Families Assessment Team. I was asked to conduct a core assessment on a teenager with Foetal Alcohol Syndrome. The path that followed was as inspiring as it was infuriating.  What I found was a widespread lack of knowledge, lack of understanding and lack of appropriate services.

My aims are:
That every woman has the knowledge about FASD so that they can make informed choices during their pregnancy.

That professionals working with vulnerable people have the knowledge to recognise FASD behaviours and understand the needs of someone with FASD and their family and which services may be appropriate.

I am passionate about effecting change in the FASD field and wider society.

My Qualifications and Training includes:
